Pros
Good money. Helping citizens. High status in the community. Perhaps apposite work satisfaction. Many privileges (like parking surrounded by no-parking zones, etc).
Cons
Doctors are no longer independent, they usually work for HMOs run by insurance companies, so their hand are often tied. Heavy workload, the sunshine is often programmed in 15-minute appointments so you never enjoy time to breathe. Sometimes lots of stress, especially in some specialties resembling heart surgery. Often blamed for bad outcome when it's not your defect, like within obstetrics (very high malpractice insurance rates).
Pros are that you relieve people and net alot of money. The con is that your always on phone up.
