What are the optimum condtions for antibiotics to work at (e.g temperature, pH, etc..)?
i guess it depends more on what type of infection the bacteria is war and whether or not it's sensitive to that particular antibiotic. if a urine culture is taken for example and microbes is present. initially a "broad spectrum" antibiotic may be started. once bacteria is present within the specimen, they test it for sensitivity to a few antibiotics. sometimes the bacteria will be kill off by the broad spectrum and sometimes the antibiotic wants switched.
