What are the most commonly prescribed barbiturates?

i know they dont get prescribed as much ever since benzodiazapines come out.
but barbiturates are still around somewhat.
phenobarbital. There are many others. But, as you said next to the benzodiazepines and other sedatives they simply aren't used much. Benzos are much safer.
Agreed with first author. Phenobarb is still used contained by some substance rehab centers.
Also, in nuclear drug, if a HIDA scan (biliary scintigraphy) is ordered on a neonate to dianose biliary atresia, we like to enjoy the patient on phenobarbital for around 5 days prior to the test to increase the biosynthesis of bile.
